Hamish Bond has been a member of the New Zealand rowing team since 2006 and over that time he has won eight World titles and one Olympic Gold Medal in the Rio Olympic Games.

Hamish Bond was
back to complete his third Olympic Games and amazingly won gold in the recent 2016 Rio Olympics also to keep his 2012 Olympic title. He has won gold in the coxless pair with his crew mate Eric Murray at the London Olympics.
The pair is still unbeaten

holds the world’s best time 6 minutes,08 seconds and 50 milliseconds which they set as their goal in the 2012 London Olympics. Hamish was born in Dunedin and he first started rowing at Otago Boys High School in the year 2000.
Hamish Bond and Eric Murray have formed as one of the greatest in 'The Rowing History'. Their five-year wins from the year 2009 to 2013, includes the Four World Titles and an Olympic games gold medal, bears comparison with the legends of any sport.

When he was only twenty years old, he competed and came out fourth on the National Senior team.  The only countries that have completed and qualified for the men’s round were Australia, Britain, and France.
 
Hamish Bond and his team's time were faster than any other team that achieved in the final properly in winning the B final.
Before leaving Beijing, Hamish Bond was recognised as New Zealand’s 1000th Olympian
